Double celebrations

End of July. Marks a significant part of my life as two of my boys celebrate their birthdays one day after another. Khaleeq turned 8 yesterday on the 30th and Inche Azrul celebrates his 35th today.

As per customary in our little family, each kid would receive at least one present on every birthday celebration - so multiple bodies were actually counting the days to Khaleeq's birthday. ;) Khaleeq is now into Lego Hero Factory and Lego City series, while Khaleeda is in her Play Doh stage. Khadra is not very much into toys so she opted for a headphone for her iPod instead (turning into a teenager too fast that girl). Everyone got their choice of poison last weekend so the present section was pretty much sorted out, thankfully.

When asked about his day in school, Khaleeq said a few of his friends wished him "Happy Birthday" and he was quite pleased with that. He had also apparently invited some friends to Kidzania for his birthday party at 3pm yesterday. I hope none of the kids dragged their parents coz we didn't plan to have the KidZania party until later. Adoii la Khaleeq. Comel betul.

We had a quiet dinner last night with just the family unit and my sweetheart of a husband ran to tapau the usual suspects from Chili's to add on to our berbuka menu. He even managed to get Khaleeq the Baskin Robbin's ice cream cake for moreh later. Yeay, husband! Suffice to say little man is mighty pleased with his day, he even have another City package yet to be opened as at late last night. That'll keep him happy throughout the week, me thinketh.

After the kids went to bed, me and the husband had a little rendezvous with my sisters at Pelita SS2 for some Maggi goreng tak nak sayur telur goyang. A little sahur get together of sorts to mark my man's birthday. No definitive plans for today as yet. But we do have Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream cake in the fridge along with 3 big candles and 5 small candles with Azrul's name all over it. We'll see la. Must be the age catching up. Hahaha.

Happy birthday dearests. You know that I love you and you.

And he's off

Just got back from sending Inche @azrulx at the airport with the kids. Thing is with the family unit, I have always been the organizer for our travels. One that thinks about checking in, visas, getting the meds stocked up and most importantly pack. Have you tried packing up a family of 5 into 2 (sometimes 3) suitcases? It does get a little complicated and you need to start doing it days in advance just in case you forgot something, you know. Even then, almost always I end up still packing til 5am on the day of our travels. Tak boleh nak buat apa la. I'm the Queen Procrastinator if you don't already know.

Letting him go on his own, well that's not entirely new. He has been away on business trips and several golf and F1 trips on his own before. But, going to the Holy Land. Ada sifat-sifat jeles sedikit di situ on my part. Thing is we have been talking about it for a while now. Been wanting to go, the two of us. Turns out the rezeki and opportunity came for him unexpectedly. By chance, no, by the gracious invitation of Allah swt. Logically it was a little sudden, he didn't go to any umrah kursus what so ever, the timing was for a week and he missed fasting in the month of Ramadhan just by a day. There were times when he was rethinking and questioning on the possible journey pun. But in the end, I'm so glad he took the step to accept the invite and went ahead with the travel plans.

As for his preps, everything came together quite nicely. He's been speaking to a few friends who've been and done the Umrah. I've supplied various books for him to speed read on his flight. ;) Yes, I already have a few. Last night, my dad gave him a crash course too - complete with another demonstration on how to wear the ihram. (Yes, he is too sweet) He is packing really light - a first for any of us. Hahahahaha. And last night I prepared his short solat recap points and the doa book. Ewa and Ema managed to squeeze theirs in as well. I have reminded him to translate the SMS and pesanan from friends into the book as well. I also took some extracts from the Travelog Haji and customized it for him. Sebak juga dada when I was preparing the doa for our family.

I shall miss him. We shall miss him. Khaleeq is already getting a fever. Hopefully not from missing his buddy boo. It's OK though. I know we will be OK. I also pray that we get to do this as a family unit next year. Insya Allah kalau ada rezeki.

Ya Allah, kau permudahkan segala urusan umrah Mohd Azrul bin Ahmad. Lindungilah beliau sentiasa dalam perliharaanmu. Amin ya rabbal aalamin.

Hubs decided that he's getting an iPhone 4s for himself. He got one for me as my advanced birthday present. Sapalah saya untuk menolak rezeki. ;)

Sedang sesi menerai. Having a blast with Siri. Lawak siuts.

Date Night Is Movie Night Is Date Night

Had a little WE time last night with Inche Azrul.
Agenda biasa = dinner then the movies.
He was craving for duck confit so I obliged. To Alexis we go. Dapatlah makan mixed berry meringue for desserts. Yeay!! :)

Happy. :)

The movie of the night?
picture from: here

Best giller okeh. A bit long , about 2 hours and a half. But I really liked it. Intellectual, gitu. Plus there's Leonardo DiCaprio, that mamat from 3rd Rock, Joseph Gordon Levitt and this child prodigy Ellen Page *no wonder she looked fimilar, adalah Juno* for good acting . Whoever thought of that story is a real cracko. Giller complex dan out-of-this-world sekali. However, I find that it could be summarized by this tajuk lagu rock kapak dari tahun 90-an. Inception = Umpama Mimpi Dalam Mimpi. hihihihihi

Happy. Happy. :)

Here's another reason to be happy. My first Choos made her debut on Malaysian soil.
Happy. Happy. Happy. :)

Happy Friday, all!

Tit for Tat

Stayed up late to teman the hubby watching FIFA World Cup 2010. It was the semi-finals : Germany versus Spain. *also for the adorable Messut Ozil, but don't tell Inche Azrul. Shhhh! * Actually , we slept first and woke up at 2am for the 2.30am game. Damn so many alarm clocks were blaring at my ears.

The game was really menyedihkan for me coz I was rooting for Germany. *think doe-eyed Messut Ozil, yet again* They were slow, macam kena rasuk pun ada jugak. Spain, on the other hand, played a very aggressive game and held possession of the ball almost the entire game. Ozil was sadly, slower than usual. Inche Azrul said it was due to that Mueller guy not playing. Sheesh! Apa nak buat, memang dah ditakdirkan kalah. As predicted by the Oracle, Paul the Octopus. Sigh.

Mamat yang score goal tu celebrating.

I think in a way, Inche Azrul appreciates my company, coz guess what we will be watching at 10pm tonight? *plus also because he enjoys the Twilight series*

Wee-hee! Can't wait!

Taking A Break

Taking a few days off from work to be with Inche Azrul. Just him and me in the land of cheap spas.

*Not looking to shop this time around. Duit bonus dah habis kat Shingapore. Kalau Inche Azrul nak belanja, itu lain cerita. *

Picture from: here

So, see ya in a couple of days. Or not. I might just blog from Jakarta. We'll see.

p/s: I actually brought some work over with me. Can't seem to leave them behind. Shites.

Trudging Trudging

It's already Thursday. That makes it almost a Friday.

The week has been long for me thus far.

A day would go on where I would work hard at work, come home late and carry out some more work at night. Maybe even manage a 2 hours nap in all that time. Next day continues and I try to put in some kind of exercise - be it PT based or just a good cardio or group exercise. Then, I'd get a full 6hour sleep.

Repeat cycle.

So far I am still managing. Maybe the slot of exercise has kept my stamina going further. Ideas are creatively flowing, thoughts are clear and analysis still sharp. Alhamdulillah. Business as usual. Just that I don't get to see my kids as much as I want to.

This would go on till Saturday, before I leave for Jakarta to join Inche Azrul. Will be back in the home country on Tuesday.

Honeymooning, just the two of us.

So, yeah. Am really working hard to earn that 2 day leave. Saturday can not come soon enough.

Till then, I might just make a run home for lunch. Only possible with the help of Saufi. Really missing Miss Deyda. See you in a while , baby!

*updated: Miss Deyda during my lunch run!

Shingapore Trip

It was really a last minute trip. 2 whole days at the Summit that ran in conjunction with CommunicAsia2010.
The visionary address was by Josh Silvermann, the CEO of Skype. Then there was the CEO's Perspective forum that brought together the CEOs of Skype, TM, Telstra and StarHub in one sitting. Later we adjourned to the individual tracks. I was registered into the Next Generation Broadband Business Model and Next Generation Fixed Broadband tracks. I came prepared though - several varieties of multi-coloured pens for taking notes, several bottles of mineral water and a Starbucks Frappuciono as back up. :) I really thought that it was interesting. Well, at the very least, it definitely brought some new insights to what was happening in the telco industry.

As usual, bab makan je la kena hati-hati sikit. I only stuck to croissant with strawberry and butter, some juice and cereal at the buffet breakfast. There were, of course nasi goreng, kuey teow goreng and stuff. I didn't take 'em. I just worry that they contain bits of meat in it. The following "assorted leaves with condiments" served at the Summit lunch, for example, contained little bits of reddish pink specks of what I suspect is bacon bits. So, yeah. Be careful, yah. Besides fast food that are certified Halal in Shingapore ( I know KFC, McD and Burger King are) we also tapaued some macarons from this dainty cafe called 1837 TWG Tea at Ion Orchard. All are infused with tea (but of course) and selling at SGD2 per pop. Sedap! :)
Since our adventurous nature was really burning that Monday night, we went ahead and got a cab to Beach Street Food Garden to try out some Singapore Soup Tulang, only at the authentic haji Kadir's place. It's red, I tell you!!!! Kinda gruesome and canniballish but pretty darn good - especially when cicah with roti. They had mee /meehun goreng that was blood red too, but we felt it was way too much lah. hihihihi. Takut...
Despite being caught in training the whole day, sempat juga pergi the Great Singapore Sale. Among the stuff I got:
That nudie jeans will not be washed in at least 6months to get a really nice "wash" to it. What's special about it is that it would follow the natural creases that is unique only to my body = unique "wash". Wah! Tak sabar! Apparently, the tip says that to get rid of any odour, one should put the pants in the freezer. Adoiai! Habisla jeans bau ayam nanti. hihihihihihihi

On the night I was packing the stuff, I realized that I needed to get more stuff for the kids sebab pembahagian harta tidak adil between the three Khas. Seeing that it was already the last night in Singapore and wouldn't have time to shop after training finishes, I did a little more shopping at the airport. (Ya, selepas check-in semua) Suffice to say the kids were pretty happy with what they got. Ibu pun happy, sebab dapat the following at Gucci. :D

Tak Ngantuk Pun?

I was getting a little sleepy over our early lunch today when I remembered what my hubby bought me over the weekend.
It's a headphone, yaww!

Selama alam ni pun, I have been using the earphones that came with my ancient and ever obsolete iPod Nano. Memang la macam susah sikit since saya pakai tudung. Nak kena godek-godek baru jumpa lubang telinga, kan? At the back of my mind though, I have always, like always wanted a cool headphone. Lagi pulak one that can lipat-lipat and be stuffed easily in my handbag. Macam senang, kan? Dan sangat style!!!
It's the Sennheiser PC-100 II model. We got the one in black. Jangan la tanya saya brand ke tak brand ke hapa. Entah-entah cap Ayam je. As far as I know this is as chic as it gets. And have I mentioned it yet, adalah style? I loike!!!!!

Harus terus pasang iTunes.
Dung.Dung.Dung.Dung. (Bass tu..)
Lagu Bad Romance, babe..

hihihihihihi

Terima kasih ya Inche Azrul. Sekarang, saya tak mengantuk lagi!

A Few F1 Weekends Ago

Yes, am a bit lagging in the news over here. A few F1 weekends have come and left, while I am still stuck at the one in Sepang. (Not that we even watched the actual race there. haha!)

We were lucky to have been given a few tickets by the generous Keduaq for Grand Stand seats at the Emerald for the Qualifying Race. Thinking that it would actually be a good experience for our boy Khaleeq, we decided to have a little outing - just me and my boys. Khaleeq was really excited about it as he got to don his fresh-from-the-Melbourne-race orange McLaren tee.
Biasalah F1. Vroom sini. Vroom sana. The sounds of the engines revving were too darn loud , I could not make out what the announcer was saying over the speakers. Plus, I had the additional task of keeping Khaleeq's earplugs in place. Kejap kena pegang belah kanan, kejap kena pegang belah kiri. The screen was also blurry, so I lagilah blur! Thankfully, I could rely on @fazz27's and @tonyfernandes' updates and analyses on twitter.

But I got a Ferrari umbrella though. So, that made it worth the while. haha!

My Dream Grecian Holiday

What better way to forget your sorrows and your pain other than dreaming of a perfect getaway, right? In my case, it's spending lots of time in the sun and sea of Greece!

I have always, always loved Greece. Think Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and Mamma Mia. Don't they make you wanna get married in a Greek Island? Where the waters and the skies are always blue. There's another reason to go too. My sister, Kira is now based in Alexandria, Egypt. So, we have been talking about visiting her and visiting Greece too since they are so close to each other. *in our dreams, lah*

Aaannyways, Inche Azrul just got this email from some travel agency about, get this:

7 Days, 5 Nights Aegean Classic

Athens - Mykonos - Cruising to Patmos via Kusadasi - Cruising to Rhodes - Cruising to Santorini via Crete - Athens

The Aegean Classic offers relaxation, sightseeing and fabulous Greek food. Start your journey in Athens and cruise for 4 days to the Cycladic islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Rhodes and Patmos, as well as a short stop in Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. There's nothing quite like watching the sun set over the Mediterranean from the bow of your luxury cruise ship while sipping on the cocktail of the day. Paradise.

Pictures from: here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here

Oh. L.O.V.E.

The charge includes return economy flight ticket, airport tax & fuel surcharge, accommodation based on twin share basis-inside cabin, meals and sightseeing as per itinerary. There are departure dates for 25th April, 2nd May and 23rd May 2010.

I want to go! I want! I want! I want! :) Kalau tak this year pun, maybe next year. Or to celebrate our 10th year anniversary in 2012. I want! I never considered going on a cruise before but it sure sounds like fun. Syoknya kalau dapat pergi, kan?

On a totally unrelated note though, I think this drug is working like a charm. :)

Replying a Tag on My Spouse

Tagged by Teratak Hami. Dah lama tak layan tag macam teruja lak nak buat. Thanks for tagging, Aja. :)

B, baca nih.. I hope I get the story right. hihihihihi

1. Where did you first meet your hubby/other half and when was it?
PPP/ITM, Section 18 - it was the first day I joined the Calculus I class by Mr Aziz Samson. It was circa August 1996.

2. Was it love at first sight?
Definitely not lah kot.
He was the one dok terhegeh-hegeh kat I.

hihihihihi

3. Who was he/she when you met him/her for the very first time?
He was my classmate in the Calculus I class. (which I totally owned, by the way! A-Levels Maths dah dapat A, boleh la berlagak.. )

4. How long did it take him/her to ask you out on a date?
We started going out socially as kawan-kawan during Calculus II. And we finally became an item on the 28th of April 1997. So to the best of my estimation, around 6 monthslah.

5. The venue of your first date?
Most probably Jusco Bukit Raja. The agenda was always the same: movie and makan. Share kueyteow kat foodcourt, lagi. (BTW, I taught him how to use the chopstick, tau)
If that wasn't it, then it must have been Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam. No movies in Shah Alam, so makan and borak-borak only.
hihihihihi

6. How did he/she proposed?
I think he never did. We sorta just know that that would be the next step for us.
The moment for me was when he called to tell me that he already told Mek (his mom) about wanting to marry me. :) Time stood still and I could literally feel my heart dropped to the floor. What went through my head was, "Gosh! This is it!"

7. Recollect a Special Date with your hubby/other half.
Ada ke yang seriously out of the ordinary? Hmm.. tak termasuk dalam ingatan lah pulak. Our dates usually revolved around movies and eateries.

I do remember going to Taman Tasik Shah Alam a couple of times. hahahahahahaha.. Oh, oh , oh.. There were a few times when we went to the Mines , naik water taxi bagai. Then, there were trips to Sunway Lagoon. Best!!! I do remember Ema, Ewa and Kira following as chaperones though. (Adik, awak ingat tak gambar awak pusing-pusing pokok kelapa kat Taman Tasik Shah Alam tu? Lawak siut! hihihihihi)

Zaman dah tua (ye ke tua?) I really appreciate the time we spend together without the kids. A late night movie, an occasional dinner, retail therapy (ini penting), hanging out at PappaRich for supper and the likes. We even go travelling sometimes, just the two of us. :)

8. Any changes that he/she asked you to make?
Hmm.. lemme think.

I don't recall him giving specific instructions to change, but after we were an item, I think I am a little more mellow, a little more calm and a lot less in-the-face. If you knew me from my SSP, STF and A-Level days, I am a much changed person. Very much less of a Ketua Pengawas, so in a better way, I hope. :)

9. What is it about him/her that you love so much?
His thoughtfulness. Never the romantic, but he would make an effort to write mushy letters and cards for me while we were courting because I am very much a person of words. He even made cards for me, like literally cutting out papers to make a shape of a heart, etc. Serious. So sweet, kan? It does help that he is so darn creative. (Hey, how come I don't get any more cards now?)

His sense of humour. Memang pelawak. Not like Raja Lawak type of lawak, but still very funny indeed. He is the funniest and wittiest person I know. (Cheh, bodek) His ability to turn a serious and tensed situation into something that we can laugh about shortens our crises period.

His generosity. I really think he would give his right arm to provide for his family. He has such a generous soul that he gives and gives and gives. Sometimes I forget to show my appreciations , yang, but do know that we are so grateful for what you have provided for us. *Ish.. Sedih la pullok*

His protective nature. Don't try to mess with his loved ones if you do not want to see the wrath of Azrul. You have been warned! For that I feel safe and protected. I know that no one could hurt us coz they've got Azrul to answer to. Jaga-jaga.. Kitorang ada bouncer, tau! :)

10. What would you like to change about him/her?
Nothing. (Jawapan politically correct)
I do believe that a marriage is a union that accepts one as they are, so nothing to changelah in that sense. Tapi, maybe if he could worry less and complain less, that'd be great! hahahahaha. My husband is such a pessimist. So, I guess he needs me to balance it all out. :)

11. You will lose your mind and crack your head when he/she.....
Boleh jawab nanti tak? Tak terpikir lah.

12. You will smile through your eyes the whole day when he/she..
writes me stupid/mushy/idiotic things over the BBM.

Seriously, I think this BlackBerry is really making us closer than we really are. It bridges the communication gap coz you are just a line away from asking the other person what ever is bothering you.

13.Complete this sentence, "My love towards my hubby/other half is as big as.."
Apa, ya? Whatever it may be, we would never be larger than Anna Swan & Martin Van Buren Bates who were crowned the Largest Married Couple in the World!

Info and pic found here

hihihihihihi

Now, I would like to tag DNAS (DNAS' reply), Jazzmatazz (Jazzy's reply), Kak Shana and Noresh and Kay coz they have been slacking on the updating department and Amy (Amy's reply - actually she did it before I tagged her) , Along (Along's reply) , Kay , KS and Zatil (Zatil's reply)coz I am a Kepochi like that! :)

My New Toy Is A BB

Waited for it for a while now. I think the waiting game began since December 2009. So I was really overjoyed when this baby was waiting for me at home last Friday. :)

Inche Azrul charged it up and did the initial setting up and such. Nothing fancy; just my email, BlackBerry Messaging (BBM), twitter and facebook applications. Then, I was good to go. :)

Aduiiii.. Berhantulah BB ini...
  • BBM
I was hooked to BBM instantly. It's basically instant massaging gone amok, if I may say so myself. Of course you need to have people to talk to first, lah. And for that you'd need to get your friend / contact's BB Pin. This is a special ID unique to each BB, ala-ala MAC addressla gitu.. I don't know what the BBetiquette is, really, but I was broadcasting my BB PIN like nobody's business. If you are my friend on facebook or my follower on twitter, you would know. :) Don't see the harm in it coz you could easily Decline a contact's request. Say if you TER-add them, you could Ignore them later anyways. So, in a way, it was safer than broadcasting your mobile number, kan? :)

The BBM application itself is superb coz you get the response instantly. Plus, you can even conference chat! Most my family members are already BB owners - Inche Azrul, Ewa, Ema, Illa, Nazz. So, we had a whale of a time conferencing last weekend. (Ziezi, go get onelah! Loser betul!) To top it all off, it's FREE too. I just hooked up with a long lost A-level friend living in Nigeria via BBM just last weekend. It really does make it feel like she's just next beside you, you know. (Hi Hadjara Dikko! *waves*) I really think this is the application that will eventually lead to BB's invasion of the world. *okay, exeggerating a little. but so necessary for the drama, kan?* Unless iPhone has a reply to BBM, world invasion is almost certain! Just look at how they are accepting BB in Indonesia. There's even a term coined - "BB Autis" - for the way the locals are behaving when they are actually meeting their friends for coffee. Everybody is busy drinking coffee and layaning their own BB. Hello? Tak de orang bercakap sesama sendiri ke? *serious*

Also, I had a little competition going on with Inche Azrul. He has 79 contacts in his BB to date. My target is to surpass that number (in an undisclosed timeframe). This morning, I already have 44. hihihihihi.. Be afraid, Inche Azrul, be very afraid...
  • Uber Twitter

Tweeting has never been simpler with Uber Twitter. Senang nak Reply and Retweet. Plus, I am able to upload a picture conveniently taken by the BlackBerry phone onto TweetPhoto to accompany my tweets. Sungguh jaki dengan orang yang able to do that on the move before. Previously, my E71 kena email the photo to a dedicated addresslah apalah - which I was too lazy to figure out. In the end I just do it on my lappy - top when it was already obsolete. Now I can tweet with photo too. :)

  • Facebook application for BB
Yeay! Enough said! :)

The other thing that I learnt really quickly was : When in doubt, just press the BB key. :)
(Picture from here)

This key is the keeper of all things wonderful - if you :
  • Were at the BB Home, you'll be able to access all the controls and applications on your BB - Messages, SMS and MMS, Browser, Contacts, Clock, Calendar, Media, etc etc
  • Were at the call log, you'd be able to Call / SMS / MMS the contact and set any special "treatment" to the contact (Speed Dial, Ring Tone), etc etc
  • Were writing a message on the BBM, say, you'd be able to Select, Copy, Paste, Check Spelling, Add Smiley etc
  • Were at Uber Twitter, it would allow you to send New Tweet, Refresh, View, Reply , etc etc.
  • Were on Facebook for Blackberry, it would allow you to Share, Refresh, View your Profile, View news Feed, View Status Updates, etc etc
So, use it often that BlackBerry key. It will serve you well!

Terima Kasih, Inche Azrul. :) I love it loads.

Now I just need a COACH phone lanyard to distinguish between His and Hers.
hihihihihihi *sempat lagi tu..*

Making My Own Moments

Had a good hour and a half worth of talk with the hubster before sleeping the other day.
I miss just talking like that.
No agenda.
Just talking and cuddling.
Sometimes I just get too caught up in living our life.
I forget to take a little breather to pause and soak it all in.

Just today I took a little time out to chase the kids one after the other around the BeanBag.
Left me breathless at the end.
But nothing beats hearing,
"This is the best day, Ibu" coming out of Khadra's mouth.

:)

Sometimes the best things in life really are free.

Welcome to the Club!

We are in! We are in!
In where, you ask?
Why, Kelab Golf Negara Subang, of course! :)

Pictures from: here
*Grin*Grin*Grin*

Good thing about the club is that there are plenty of outlets serving food. And they are not at all pricey. I already got my SPOUSE membership card semalam. So, bolehlah entertain kawan-kawan kat sini nanti.. I sign, Azrul bayar.. hihihihihi (Perasan tai-tai)

Nak kena fmiliarize with what we can do there, for me and for the familylah pullok, other than golf for Azrul, that is.. Among the facilities offered:
  • Sporting Facilities - They have a gym (complete with gym instructors at designated times hahahaha NO MORE EXCUSES, FATSO!), Aerobics, Yoga, some dance classes, squash, table tennis, swimming, tennis, tai chi and tae-kwan-do.
  • Recreational Facilities - Library (would be the perfect place for me to study my CIA, loh!) , Fruit Machine (ini apa?), snooker and card room.
  • Other Facilities - Pro shop, hair salon, car wash, convenience shop and foot reflexology centre. (Wah! I loike!)
Looks like we would be hanging out there often now. It's good that they have proper classes / coaching for swimming, tennis etc. Could enrol the kids in it while I check out the foot reflexology centre! hihihihi I remember when I was yee-high (pointing to my waist) , us, adik-beradik , would hang out at Lake Club attending swimming lessons, going to library and all that. I guess it has now come to a full circle. Now, my kids are able to do that pulak. :)

Doomsday in 2012

I forgot that 2012 was showing last week. It didn't even register in my overworked brain until my other half mentioned a possible Gold Class treat for it. (Seeing that it was about 2 hours and 45 minutes long) Ya, kami kiasu.. nak Gold Class mestilah berbaloi dari segi mutu cerita dan how long the movie is! Seems like this particular movie fits the bill to the tee... :)

(picture from: here)

Lemme tell you that it was worth it!!! Serious!!!

All this while, I have always been let down by apocalypse / dooms day type movies coz we never actually get to see the destruction/ chaos after. In 2012, however, every single bumi kena telan tanah, tsu-Mawi (OK, sorry, bad joke) , rapturing and burning buildings were shown its all its glory gory. CGI was unbelievably amazing! There is also a few subplots of human stories in it which made it even more watchable.

Kesimpulannya, saya suka and if you get the chance, GO SEE!

Go watch The Time Traveler's Wife!

Though I was 50 pages shy from completing the novel when I watched the movie, let me go
ahead and give you the review aaaannnyways.. ;)

(Picture from: here)

Was it choppy? Definitely not.
Was the screenplay how it was written in the book? Similar, but not exactly identical. I believe the differences were necessities in order to keep the movie length viewable.
Did I cry? Yes, I did. Not buckets though. Just wimpy tears.
Was it good? NO. It was GREAT!

I was really anticipating this movie 'coz I have heard raving reviews about the book. So, I decided to buy the book and read it for myself. At first it was kinda confusing. Once I figured out how to read it (Waa.. Da Vincci Code, kah?) it was kinda hard to put down. Anyhoots, on the day we were due to watch the movie, I had about 200plus more pages to finish. I tried and tried to, but I didn't manage it by viewing time. So, how Henry actually died was still a surprise when I entered the cinema.

Having Eric Bana as Henry was also a pull factor for me. (Kindly recall his hot bod in 300 Troy) So comel to see the old him saying 'I do' at the altar and the dashing young him again dancing with Clare at the wedding reception. :) I was giving hints to Azrul as the movie progressed but in actual truth it was not really necessary 'coz as soon as your mind starts to question or wonder about something, the answer will come right up in the next scene. :) That Rachel McAdams is also so gorgeous as Clare, kan? I also liked the fact that they tried to keep the plot simple. I mean it is really confusing enough to be travelling back and forth through time without having to showcase every single character in the book. Imagine how complicated it would be if the complexity of Clare's family, Henry's estranged dad and his friendly neighbour/caregiver Kimmy, the fondness that Gomez has for Clare were entwined into the plot. Adalah sangat confuse, okay..

Sudahlah merepeknya... In conclusion, I would rate the movie as a definite must see. Go catch it while it's still showing at the cinemas.

Now, on the silver screen front:
1. I just need to make my way to This Is It. Bila habis showing, ek?
2. I really hope I win the movie preview from nuffnang for New Moon! AAAAminnn..

Long Overdue

This post is long overdued.
Latest reason for not appearing in the blogosphere:

Iya, puteri kecilku gering. Maka dengan itu, completelah tiga-tiga warded for 2009. Hope there won't be any repeat performances. *fingers crossed*

Been in Pantai Medical Centre since Sunday and as the good Dr puts it; we need to wait till her stool hardens. Up till then, I shall be sleeping over at the hospital.

I am sure it would be gross and just plain wrong to bore you with the visual / description of what went wrong with Khaleeda's bowel movements. Just suffice to say that Shit is really determining my life at this moment.

Hihihihihi

Just a simple note to say that I may be lingering a while. ;)

Oh, BTW, other half has been sucked into the dark side too.. he's on a roll - 2 posts today alone! *Really* Check him out when you have the time!

Hampir Hampir Overloaded

We sent off Bibik Parmi last Sunday for her month long holiday at her kampung. A befitting rest , I should add as the Eid celebration is fast approaching and this is the first time she is back after 3 years with us.

Which, in essence, means that all Bibik duties had been handed over to yours truly and hubby. Yeay!!!!

hahahahahaha

Sangat seronok rediscovering housework , et al. I used the washing machine again after, oh I don't know, maybe 4 years. (Last time, if i recalled correctly, was when our then Bibik Lidya was having her month and a half break) So, it has been quite a while and I have developed a little rust , if you know what I mean.. ;)

The hands-ons of raising the kids: from getting them up, bathing them, sorting their baju/buku, poo-poo and Shishu duties for Khaleeda, their makan/minum, get them to sleep. Waaahhhh!!! Such a mouthful and imagine the work that entails too.. So far we have been pretty good here. Plus the fact that some of the elements can be outsourced to my mom's bibik Sani when we are in Puchong and my sisters have been of help too. :)

Keeping the house in order - my aim is not to have the house to be ready for the Friday inspections we used to have back in STF. Cukuplah setakat barang-barang are where they are supposed to be. Jangan berselerak sangat, cukup... Sampah-sarap needs to be periodically ikat-ed and put out in the rubbish storage outside the house unit for collection. Imagine Khaleeda's poo-poo terperangkap in the air circulation of condo - very stenchy, literally. Kalau nak mop living room tu tiap-tiap pagi like Parmi does, tak dapek la cik.. Saya nak pergi opis pulak lepas tu..

So far laundry duties has also been under control. Eventhough I have lowered the standards somewhat. Parmi used to iron every iron-able item : boxers and camisoles, included. Seingat I kat STF dulu, iron cuma baju sekolah and baju prep je. Kalau tak jenuh la dok beratur and hang out kat bilik iron tu. Ish ish ish.. Tak sesuaiiii.. So, I have reduced ironing duties to those essential ones ONLY such as baju kerja Azrul. (Maybe you should take this one, dear.. hihihihi)

Makan-makan? Well, so far we have resorted to tapau-ed items, nasi kawah from Restoran Anis Puteri, Chicken Mandy from al-Rawsha, Pizza from Dominoes for Buka and Sahur. I only masak nasi and yesterdayI goreng sausages for Sahur. So, cooking has been very minimal. Which was a great idea since it translates to minimal dish-washing too.. Hubby has been great in this area too.. :)

So, conclusion-nya. I miss my Bibik Parmi. But, we actually can live without her. A little more effort and organizing around the house is needed though since we have outsourced the tasks totally to her. Banyak kerja dia and I do have a greater sense of appreciation of what she has allowed me to have over the past 3 years. The extra sleep, the time off I needed to pulun my reports or some chilling / ME time. For that, I am thankful and can't wait for 11 October to come.

In the mean time, anybody knows where I can get a French maid costume? Bibik takde ni.. Extra privacy in our household. I loike.. :)
