Selamat Pengantin Baru, Hani...

I was really excited to receive a wedding invitation from my former housemate in UNITEN - Fazilah Hani Harun. The invite itself was creme and pink and at the cover , it said: Hani & Zizan. The first thought that ran through my head was, Hani nak kawin dengan Zizan Raja Lawak ke? It was quickly answered when I turned the cover coz Hani (in her beautiful engagement outfit and complete with tudung) was smiling right at me with Zizan Nin by her side. So, the first question quickly answered and it was quickly replaced by "Lawanya dia pakai tuduung!!"

Apparently, Hani is now with NTV7 - she's a broadcast journalist. Of all the years I've known her, she's really been doing most everything. I think she started her working life as a stewerdess in Malaysia Airlines, then Air Asia. She was part of the team that went on the maiden flight to Manchester and took photos with the ManU team, I think. hihihihi.. Then she worked for some engineering consultant's office and now settling at NTV7. So to say her life is colourful is somewhat an understatement. :)

A few calls between friends later, we have kaw-timed with my lovely Srikandi, Jaja to secure a place on the same table. I had a lovely time catching up with friends - loads of goss and laughter!

The bride was a sight to behold. So beautiful in her flowing outfit. She looked a tad taller than Zizan. Prolly due to the heels. He even commented on it during his speech - "To my wife, what can I say? You look so beautiful AND tall" hihihihihi.. Lain kali pakai platform lah brader... :)

My highlight moment, dapat ambik gambar dengan the bride and groom!!! hihihihi

Girlie housemates reunited. (Mana Juju?)

We are so happy for you, beautiful Hani. Here's wishing you a wonderful journey of life together as man and wife! Yes, you are absolutely right, dear - it won't be a bed of roses. Make it work and stick together through thick and thin. :)

She's finally here..

Been waiting for this baby the whole day. And she's finally here... :)

Like The K-E-K, I am an employee of the said Telco too and these kind of staff deal really is an icing on the cake. :) We are only paying RM10 ontop of my current Broadband subscription for the next 3 years. That makes it just RM360. Seriously good deal, right???
Anyways, I promised Khadra that she could be the "owner" of the netbook. Hopefully this would also encourage her to go to school without much drama. ;) She's been asking me about the netbook's arrival eversince I submitted the application form. *Serious* She's that excited. Her first reaction when we opened up the package was, "WoW!!"... Really put a smile on my face, that did.. :)
I hope to be blogging more diligently with this. So chic and small and lightweight. Kalau ibu travel, bolehla ibu pinjam, kan kakak? hihihihihi
Sudah-sudahla tu. I was supposed to set it up aje. Now I need to siap-siap for a celebrity wedding tonight. hihihihi.. So excited.
*this entry was brought to you by the new HP mini. Tq.

Move Out Already..

Office is undergoing renovation at the moment. It's carried out phase by phase and I am involved in Phase 2 that is supposed to commence today, the 16th of March 2010. People have been boxing their memoirs and belonging since the second week of February but I had not started a thing. Staying true to Miss Procrastinator title, I left it to very last minute - thinking of coming in last weekend to box and move my stuff.

Well, with what was going on in the home-front, that obviously DID NOT happen. Couple that with the super efficient contractor. Phase 2 had already commenced on Monday, 15th March 2010 and my workspace is sticking out like a sore thumb.

Macam island kan with all the other cubicles being knocked down already. hihihihihihihihi

So, after enlisting my hardworking little elf to help out, the both of us came in at the end of office hours, yesterday to clean up my stuff. (Yes, I was on leave yesterday)

Khadra trying to complete one of her tasks - taking down their arts and crafts off my cubicle wall.

Got to say that we make quite an efficient team. The main objective was to MOVE my stuff. Which we sorted out by around 8pm.Yippee!

Khadra in the Before and After picture

Silly me, though. I ter-forget that I have an allergy to dust. *Yes, very princessy* So, 2.5hours of moving dust-inhabited ornaments, files, documents and knick-knacks left me scratching my hands and face in no time at all. I was literally driving home with one eye closed coz it got way too itchy and red. Felt like scooping my eyeballs out of the socket and throw it far far away - itchy. :)~~ Arrghh... Don't talk to me about the swelling cheecks and forehead. Even with my sawo matang skin tone I could see that I have red patches all over - especially around the eyes, forehead, cheek and jawline.

I had to start rubbing the affected area slowly whilst in search of Clarinase in the medicine box. Nasib baik jumpa. The swelling and all subsided in the next two hours. In the mean time, I discovered that garuan in a circular motion worked better to release the itch than garuan in a linear motion. Whaddya know, eh?

For the organization of my workspace today - I have picked up a few lateral learns:
  1. I shall use my H1N1 mask.
  2. I shall down my antihistamine before I attempt to organize.
There. Nanti dah siap seme, saya letak gambar, ok? Yang lain-lain tu, nantilah saya update. ;)

Totally Zonked Out

Alhamdulillah. Got back from Jakarta late Monday night with reality waiting for me. :) Banyak sangat benda yang happen. I, like, don't know where to start.
  • Anak sakit. Nombor satu demam. Nombor tiga muntah. Nombor satu pulak muntah. Nombor satu masih demam. (Meanhile, nombor dua tak puas hati kena pergi sekolah, sebab nombor satu demam dapat duduk kat rumah)
  • Mak dia takleh nak tidur sebab dok berjaga dari pukul 4pagi tunggu anak pi toilet nak muntah.
  • More drama - this time with the bibik la pulak. Enough said.
  • Khadra has her Sukan(eka) tomorrow on Friday. So I need to be helping out with stuff at school. (But, when?)
  • Some great opportunities for my princess which is a little premature to discuss, but still needs some preparation. :)
  • Banyak cerita from Java that I want to share, but in the mean time my head is totally spaced out. Tak feel nak share as yet. Tunggu ya.. ;)
  • So thankful that next week is a school holiday. Yeay! Tak payah pikir pasal nak ambik and hantar anak to school. Maybe I'll sort the logistics then. Or not. Oh ya. Cuti Sekolah. Nak gi cuti kat mana, ya?
Just taking it one day at a time for now.

Good Food In Sarawak

Happy Thursday y'all!

I have just the thing for this fine Thursday. Presenting to you the food what we ate in Kuching on that work trip last month. We stayed at the Riverside Majestic Hotel (formerly known as the Crowne Hotel , me thinketh), by the Sungai right smack in the middle of the city of Meow.

Let's start with Top Spot - the damn famous seafood place, just behind our hotel. We wanted to go to ABC but it was closed so we went to the stall beside it. Food for the night adalah tajaan Danawa, Thank you En Bird and Puan Ema. :)

1. Top Spot - Looks like a carpark donnit? YES it is!
2. Oyster cake - I didn't like it though. hihihi
3. Chilli crab
4. Kawan Lala (for the life of me I can't remember it's name) - have to try it, but I'm not a fan lah
5.Soup timun (actually adalah gamat) - quite yummy actually

The next night we went again, sebab naaak jugak rasa makan dekat ABC. Nasib baik bukak! :)

1. The famous ABC sea food.
2. Curry crab - not as nice, I thought, sebab I could rasa the serbuk curry and the taste was kinda piercing gitu. I was told to try the Blackpepper Crab next time.
3. Butter Prawn - Aaahh!! Easily the best I've had.
4. Siakap masak asam.
5. Midin goreng belacan.

On one of our breaks we went to taste the pride of Sarawak - Mee Kolok and Laksa Sarawak.
1. Rajah Cafe, near to the Puspakom Tanah Putih.
2. Mee Kolok - you could choose beef or chicken. (Looks a little like maggi, kan?)
3. Laksa Sarawak.
4. Teh Dangdut. 3 layers of stuff- the bottom one is nira, me thinketh.
5. Air Tebu Lemon Asam Boi. Terbaeeekkkk!!!! (This is also at Top Spot)

Wah! Suddenly I am famished lah pulak. :)~ Jom makan..

There are many good songs in this Volume, among others:
  • Don't Stop Believin' - my all time favourite!
  • Can't Fight This Feeling - Remember this Lily Jasmin? Your song masa kat UM! :)
  • Gold Digger
  • Take A Bow
  • Bust Your Windows - strangely Khadra loves this track. :)
  • Taking Chances
  • No Air
  • Sweet Caroline
Thing is, why takde Single Ladies- Put A Ring On It? Is it in Volume 2? Anyhoots, that Don't Stop Believing is such a pickmeupper. I loike! So, I'll leave you guys with just that! Enjoy!

Don't Stop Believin'

M: Just a small town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere

F:Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere

M: A singer in a smoky room
F: The smell of wine and cheap perfume

B: For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight, people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

F: Working hard to get my fill,
Everybody wants a thrill

B: Payin' anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some are born to sing the blues
And now the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight, people
Living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to that feelin'
Streetlight, people

Don't stop!

Have a good productive mid-week, y'all!

My Dream Grecian Holiday

What better way to forget your sorrows and your pain other than dreaming of a perfect getaway, right? In my case, it's spending lots of time in the sun and sea of Greece!

I have always, always loved Greece. Think Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and Mamma Mia. Don't they make you wanna get married in a Greek Island? Where the waters and the skies are always blue. There's another reason to go too. My sister, Kira is now based in Alexandria, Egypt. So, we have been talking about visiting her and visiting Greece too since they are so close to each other. *in our dreams, lah*

Aaannyways, Inche Azrul just got this email from some travel agency about, get this:

7 Days, 5 Nights Aegean Classic

Athens - Mykonos - Cruising to Patmos via Kusadasi - Cruising to Rhodes - Cruising to Santorini via Crete - Athens

The Aegean Classic offers relaxation, sightseeing and fabulous Greek food. Start your journey in Athens and cruise for 4 days to the Cycladic islands of Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Rhodes and Patmos, as well as a short stop in Kusadasi on the Turkish coast. There's nothing quite like watching the sun set over the Mediterranean from the bow of your luxury cruise ship while sipping on the cocktail of the day. Paradise.

Oh. L.O.V.E.

The charge includes return economy flight ticket, airport tax & fuel surcharge, accommodation based on twin share basis-inside cabin, meals and sightseeing as per itinerary. There are departure dates for 25th April, 2nd May and 23rd May 2010.

I want to go! I want! I want! I want! :) Kalau tak this year pun, maybe next year. Or to celebrate our 10th year anniversary in 2012. I want! I never considered going on a cruise before but it sure sounds like fun. Syoknya kalau dapat pergi, kan?

On a totally unrelated note though, I think this drug is working like a charm. :)
